Twin Flames in Quran and Prophetic Tradition

A category of soul contracts with undeniable chemistry and similar life missions.

"'I went to the Messenger of Allah and mentioned [Mu’awiyah’s proposal]… he said: ‘As for Mu’awiyah, he is a man with no wealth, and as far as Abu Jahm he is a man who is harsh with women.’ She said: ‘Then Usamah bin Zaid proposed to me, and he married me. So Allah blessed me with Usamah.’” [1]

This scene features three-times divorced Fatimah bint Qais, who shares the predicament of many. She saw parts of herself where she had yet to develop in suitors. She attracted Abu Jahm, an abuser, while she had dependency issues, a common trauma bond pattern.

She also attracted Mu’awiyah, who was to become a founder of one of the greatest empires, but like her, hadn’t reached the pinnacle of his development. She heeded the Prophet’s insight and in so doing, turned to the true source of sustenance (The Divine). Her life partner materialized.

When we know what we don’t want, we know what we do. Fatima had to learn to say ‘no’ to some to say ‘yes’ to her soulmate. At least one (Mu’awiyah) in this case was her twin flame. It’s worth noting the Prophet ﷺ…
